The Chesapeake Club Restaurant
The Tides Inn Chesapeake Club is lined with walnut patina lockers celebrating the heritage and prohibition days of the past.
In the early days of the resort the county was dry and guests would bring their own beverages and rent a locker during their stay, the rental fee was a club membership and the resort operated as a private club to allow a martini or champagne cocktails on the lawn and wine with dinner.
Those guests who did not bring their drinks would be ferried on the resorts private yacht across the river to Urbanna which was in a "wet" county and bring back alcohol for their stay, this weekly trip soon became a highlight of the social scene and was named ´The Whiskey Run" The lockers are now used for team building memory games and create a rich and colorful backdrop to the restaurant and bar.
Commodore´s Waterfront Restaurant
Commodore´s is a fun, informal Chesapeake Bay waterfront café serving lunch seasonally.
Located creekside at the main pool, overlooking the Tides Inn´s sandy beach. the café features specialty signature cocktails along with delicious burgers and smoothies, and is known for its casual light menu.
Open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day, this Chesapeake Bay waterfront restaurant serves lunch from 11 am - 5 pm.
Golden Eagle Grill
The Golden Eagle Grill is a popular local spot for light fare, sandwiches and specialities.
Located upstairs in the clubhouse at the Golden Eagle Golf Club, the recently renovated Golden Eagle Grill features a hammered tin ceiling, belt-driven ceiling fans and an antique oak and marble bar from Irvington´s historical original steamboat landing.
Open for lunch daily from 11 am - 3 pm. Closed on Tuesday.
The Terrace Lounge features comfortable wingback chairs, sofas and tables on the terrace overlooking the area´s best view of Carter´s Creek. A lite-fare menu, array of aperitifs, local Rappahannock oysters and Virginia wine pairings, served 3 - 10 pm daily. Live music performed Saturday evenings, 6:30 - 9:30 pm.
